Our Kitchen

Here is just one picture of the border we put up in our kitchen last week. The whole entire kitchen is not done yet so there is not a picture of that! We need to remeasure the windows and then Heston's mom is going to make us some beautiful curtains! The fabric is so neat; it has gold, green, and red stripes. I am so excited! I will post pictures once that is done.

Heston did ALL of the work because I have never done wall paper and he has done it many times! He was kind of sick so I felt bad he had to do it, but he was a good sport! I love you, Babe! Thanks!

Phoebe: the world traveler!

Phoebe also went along this past weekend to visit her "cousins". She did really well, especially since she is not used to being around "short people". At first she ran everytime the kids came around, but after a while, if they walked up to her quietly, she would even let them pet her! She would sit in the picture window in the living room and just watch all of the birds and squirrels. That was the perfect level for Victoria and Logan to be able to pet her! She was never mean or ugly to them and that made me SO HAPPY! I would hate to have to get rid of her once we had kids.

Victoria kept reminding me to take Phoebe home with me. She started saying it the day before we left and then said it every couple of minutes up until we left. It was really funny! Don't worry, Vicotria, I wouldn't forget her! Logan's most frequent question of me was, "where kitty"?

Heather has pictures of the kids kissing Phoebe good-bye! I will post them once I get them.

Here is a picture of her riding on Heston's lap on the way home! She had a great trip and once we got home she didn't know what to do with herself since it was so quiet!

Our visit to the Watson's...

We had a wonderful visit with Heather, Kevin, Victoria and Logan last weekend! It was so nice to get away and spend time with family. It is nice that we have family close enough that we can visit once in a while.

It was so fun to pull up the house and hear the kids yelling our names! They ran out the door and jumped into our arms! That was alot of fun, especially since they remember us, now!

On Friday, we stayed home with Victoria and Logan. Uncle Heston made scrambled eggs and chocolate milk for breakfast and we couldn't beleive how much Logan ate! Growing little boy!

We had McDonald's for lunch...the kids loved that! Then we had pizza for dinner and then went shopping for a little bit! We took Logan and Victoria shopping while Heather and Kevin could grocery shop! The kids had fun picking out toys for Uncle Heston to buy them. They had fun riding in the back of our car.

We had a great trip and we were so glad that we could spend time with our family! We will see them later this spring when Kevin comes to help us with our deck! That will be fun!

Missions trip to Germany

This summer, Heston has the opportunity to help head up a sport-minded missions trip to Nurnberg, Germany, June 19-July 3. This trip is sponsored by Northland's Athletic Department. The trip will be coordinated by missionary Jeff Brown, who is a friend of Northland. The team going to Germany consists of 11 college men, 2 Northland Alumni, and 2 coaches, which includes Heston. Although he is helping to coordinate the trip, he is also planning on playing goalie in the games that have been set up. There will be many unique opportunites to share the love of Christ both with the German people and those who are visiting the country for the World Cup. They will also have opportunites to do service projects, work in the church, and pass out tracts. The Lord has given the group of men an awesome opportunity to share thier faith through the avenue of soccer.

Please pray for the details in preparing for the trip and for the activities while they are ministering in Germany. The cost per individual for the two week period is $2,000. This amount will cover transportation to and from the country, room and board, and expenses while in Germany. Would you be willing to prayerfully consider assisting Heston in raising the funds as he seeks to go on this once in a lifetime opportunity?

Thank you for your prayers! We are excited to see the Lord provide the money for Heston to be able to go on this trip. We will keep you posted as the funds come in! The Lord does provide! We have seen that first hand in our marriage and we thank the Lord for that!

Originally I was going to be able to go on this trip with Heston, however, the other coach's wife just recently had a baby and therefore would not be able to go. They didn't want to send just one lady, so as a compromise, I am going to go home to Colorado and visit my family for a week! I haven't been home since last April so I am really excited!

My handsome husband...

I just wanted to share a picture of my HANDSOME husband! This is his spring break so he doens't have to shave - boy does he love that! I don't mind, either, I love him with faical hair! And believe it or not, it is pretty soft!

Hair Fixes from your Cupboard!

I received the following email from Denise Austin's Morning Stretch the other day and that I would share it!

You don't need a lot of expensive products to keep your hair looking great. The solutions to some of the most common hair dilemmas can be found right in your very own cupboard!

-Ease frizz with coconut oil. Rub a few drops into your hands and smooth over your tresses. Be careful not to overdo it, though — too much can make hair appear greasy!

-Periodically rinse your hair with a baking soda and water solution to remove hair product buildup.

-Mix the juice of one lemon and one cup of water to make a rinse that brings shine to dull hair!

-Rosemary, patchouli, or almond oil extracts help minimize the flaking associated with a dry scalp.

-For subtle summer highlights, apply a solution of chamomile tea and lemon juice to your hair. Let it sit for 15 minutes, and rinse. Voila, instant highlights!

-Keep your hair healthy from the inside out by drinking lots of water and eating a diet full of healthy fruits and vegetables!

Grandparents!

I love my grandparents so much and I wanted to take this opportunity to tell them this! They have given us so much, most importantly, a Christian heritage. Both sets of my grandparents are saved and have raised thier families in Christianity. I didn't realize how rare that was until I got older.

My grandparents live in CO now, near my family and my uncle's family. They met before WW 2. They correponded throughout the war and then they got married! My grandpa worked and retired from Northwest Airlines. They raised their family, 2 boys and 1 girl, in MN where my grandpa built thier house. Neat house! When they retired, they moved to Oceanside, CA where they lived for 10+ years. Then they moved to CO in GOD'S PERFECT TIMING! Shortly after they moved to CO, my grandpa had heart troubles which would have been very difficult for the family to help out with if they still lived in CA. The Lord also led my aunt and uncle who lived in California to move to CO before we even knew what was in store for my Grandpa. But the Lord led him through that.

Several weeks ago, my grandma had back surgery because something was pinching the nerves that go to her legs. She is doing well and the doctor's were amazed with how well she did due to her age (82). She is recuperating at home and is waiting for the weather to get nicer so she can get outside!

My Grandma CHECKS MY BLOG!! I told her she was the coolest Grandma ever. They have been married for close to 60 years and have been a great example to Heston and I. We don't get to see them often, but we keep in contact!

I just wanted to say, I love you Grandma & Grandpa and I can't wait to see you in June! Maybe you can make it up for Bri's graduation in May? We will see!!

(Grandma & Brianne)
We love you and miss you!

Spring Break

Spring Break is here! It is not as exciting as it was when I was still a student, but it still holds some element of excitement! The number one thing is that I don't have to wear nylons to work for a whole week! That is always exciting, oh, and I can wear jean skirts! I was never a huge fan of jean skirts, but once I was told that it was not part of my dress code, it made me want to wear them! Life goes on. Summer will be here soon enough and I can wear jean skirts every day!

We are looking forward to getting together with alot of our frineds this week. Some of our really good friends are expecting a baby any day now so we are getting together tonight before the big day comes - get togethers will never be the same, in a good way of course!

It is neat to see how the Lord gives us a break when we need it the most. I think especailly of my dear husband, Heston. He words SO hard at work and on his school work. Since his health isn't all that great, he really needs the break. It will be a refreshing week!

Then on Thursday we head down to Rockford! We are so excited to spend time with Heather & Kevin and the kids. Looking forward to it!

Anyone have any fond spring break memories to share?

Our Friends

I wanted to start posting some pictures of our friends so that our family can SEE who we always talk about! I will post them from time to time as you don't always take pictures of those you hang out with. Most of our frineds have children or will soon have children. It is so fun though, because we get to hold the little ones and then give them back. We look forward to having children some day, but for now, we will enjoy everyone else's children!

Heston playing with Gabriel - Tommy & Tricia's 15 month old son

Camrynn Elizabeth - Craig and Kelly's daughter. This is when she was a few weeks old; she is now 4 months old! Heston loves to hold her and I have to fight him to get a chance to hold her!

I love the fact that Heston loves children and that he is so good with them. I have often joked with him that he should be the stay at home parent, but I don't think I will be able to give up my "dream job" that easily.

Our Favorite Restaurant

Last night Heston and I went to our favorite restaurant in Iron Mountain - Fontana's Supper Club! We go there once in a while when we want to feel like we aren't in the UP anymore. The food is great and the prices are decent. We always have a great time enjoying each other's company and talking away! I am very thankful for my husband. He works so hard at his job, his school work and at the house. I am so glad that the Lord brought us together in His perfect timing. I am also glad for his family. I couldn't ask for a better "in-law" family. Wish we could all be together more, but we take what we can get. We are looking forward to our summer vaction in August! It will be here before you know it!

Here is a picture of Heston & I taken on his computer in his office. Not the best picture, but it will do!

Here is a picture of us playing around with all of the new features of his photo program!

Our Home on Love Lane...

Here is a picture of our home that we purchased this past fall!

It was as if the Lord was basically throwing it in our laps. It is at those times you know the Lord cares about the desires of our hearts. At that time, we had been married for a little over 2 years. We lived in the apartments on campus and we LOVED it because of all the other young couples we spent time with that we may not have met otherwise, as well as having a central location for my sister and her friends to come over and all the other friends that Heston and I had. But after 2 years, it was time to say goodbye!

We still have lots of projects to do, but it is feeling a little more like home each and every day - especially since Heather helped me hang my shelves and pictures in the living room! We are anxiously awaiting Spring Break so we have a little bit more time to finsih up those big projects! Great times and we feel truly blessed.

After spring break, I will post some before and after pictures! That is exciting!

What kind of soda are you?

You Are Dr. Pepper

You're very unique and funky, yet you still have a bit of traditionalism to you.
People who like you think they have great taste... and they usually do.

Your best soda match: Root Beer

Stay away from: 7 Up

This is CRAZY!!! My favorite pop (as i like to refer to it) is DR. PEPPER and Heston's favorite soda (as he likes to call it) is ROOT BEER!! Pretty crazy!

Meet Phoebe...

Here is the addition to the Frey family. Heston brought Phoebe home to me 2 months after we were married. He was driving home from his office and something caught his eye. He got out of the car and there was this little black cat just sitting in the middle of the road. It didn't run from him so he picked her up and brought her inside. She was so little! We got some food and some litter from some neighbors and she fell asleep right away! We took her to the vet because we knew she was very sick and sure enough, the vet found a bebe in her hip and she had a huge infection in her neck! After a few weeks she was good as new and she has loved us ever since! She is our baby...

So here it begins...

I have wanted to start a blog for quite a while. I actually started one in January, but I didn't like it so I deleted it! My sister-in-law, Heather Watson, is an avid blogger and she and her husband are here visiting this week with their youth group, and hearing her talking about it made me think about giving it another try! So here it goes!
